DISABILITY IN MEDIA
This is a presentation, not a publication-on a very useful topic. It might even be called an opportunity. Henry Holden travels to present a live program called "The Misconceptions Continue: How the Media Represents People with Disabilities." As Holden, who has had to use crutches for the past half-century, points out, although 54 million Americans out of nearly 300 million have a disability, people in this category are seen on television only 1.5% of the time. Holden will lecture and work with classes and other small groups, particularly in his program for maximizing disability awareness on campus. * Contact: Henry Holden, Disability In Media Everywhere, 1140 Bloomfield Ave., Suite 220, West Caldwell, NJ 07006; Telephone 800.260.5589; Web site: http://www.henryholden.com.
